Management of Student Behavior

During my student teaching I was a part of a two-teacher team of 58 students. 10 of these students had learning disabilities and 2 had emotional impairments. It was a very challenging experience that I was able to learn a great deal from during that that time. One of the best ways for me to meet the individual needs of each of these students and to asess their behavior was in the completion of a student needs chart. In this chart I evaluated the personality, behavior, strenghths, and weaknesses of each of my students and gave examples of accomodations I could make for them. The names have been changed on the chart for confidentiality reasons and it is attached below.

During my student teaching I enrolled in an optional classroom management course. As an assignment for this course I completed a classroom expectations chart and implemented those expectations into my classroom environment during student teaching. I have attached this chart below.

To the right is an example of a simple behavior plan I helped implement to meet the needs of one of the students in my class that had an emotional impairment. Below is an example of my classroom expectations that were posted in the room for my Life Skills class.
